Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) workers Thursday come face to face outside the Arts Council Karachi on the occasion of the mayoral election, GNN reported.
According to details, workers of PPP and Jamaat-e-Islami pelted stones at each other.
Police and Rangers are making efforts to control the situation. They are also using baton charge to control the charged workers.
In the recent development of the election for Mayor Karachi, PPP’s leader Murtaza Wahab has been elected as Mayor for four years by gaining majority votes.The election took place between Murtaza Wahab and Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman.
According to unofficial results, the winning Wahab scored 173 votes, whereas Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman of JI gained 161 votes.
