The former first lady has been asked to bring all the relevant documents about Al-Qadir Trust case for her appearance before the anti-graft body.
Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday issued another summons to former first lady Bushra Bibi in connection with the £190 million NCA scandal, as part of an ongoing investigation.
Bushra Bibi was called to appear before NAB investigators on June 22, and has been asked to bring relevant documents related to Al-Qadir Trust.
The Al-Qadir University Trust was registered by the PTI chief for the Al-Qadir University Project on December 26, 2019. The investigation by NAB continues to uncover details related to the scandal.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi was directed to appear before the anti-graft body on June 13 but she failed to appear before it, prompting the issuance of the new notice.
In the same case, former principal secretary Azam Khan was also summoned by NAB Rawalpindi on June 19. He was previously called by the anti-corruption watchdog on June 6 but did not appear.
The NCA £190 million scandal revolves around the alleged acquisition of hundreds of canals of land in the name of Al Qadir University Trust, resulting in a reported loss of £190 million to the national exchequer.
According to the charges, the former prime minister and other accused individuals allegedly misappropriated and adjusted Rs50 billion (equivalent to £190 million at the time) received from Britain's National Crime Agency (NCA).
