Fawad Chaudhry is accused of threatening the families of Chief Election Commissioner and other officials.

Islamabad: District and Sessions Court Saturday decided to indict former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on June 24 in the case of threatening Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), GNN reported.
According to details, Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra had summoned Fawad Chaudhry and his guarantor today. The court ordered to receive summons at his residences in Lahore and Islamabad.
The former minister appeared in the court today, however he did not appear in the last two hearings.
On the occasion of appearance today, the court provided the copy of the case to Fawad and ordered him to ensure his attendance at the next hearing. The court postponed the hearing of the case till June 24 stating that former PTI leader will be indicted on June 24.
It is pertinent to note that Fawad Chaudhry is accused of threatening the families of Chief Election Commissioner and other officials.
Chaudhry had been arrested in the case from Lahore on January 25. Later on February 1, the session court ordered his release on bail.
The then PTI leader, Fawad while talking to the media in Lahore on January 24 when he stated: “We warn the Election Commission, its members, their families and others involved they will have to face the reaction if the ill treatment with us continues”.
He also that we have been very patient and careful, but this matter is not going to work. These people who seem to be in the caretaker government, whether it is the Chief Minister, the Election Commissioner or others, you have been here for three months, four months or a year, we will follow you until the verdict is actually handed down.
Islamabad Police arrested Fawad Chaudhry from his residence in Lahore late at night after a case was registered in Kohsar police station by the Secretary Election Commission.
