Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to announce Eid-ul-Adha date today
The representatives of Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO and Meteorological Department will also participate in this meeting.
Karachi: A meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held today Monday for Zill-Hajj moon sighting to announce the date of Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan.
According to details, the meeting will be chaired by the Chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
It is stated that the representatives of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and Meteorological Department will also participate in this meeting.
Apart from this, the representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology will also be present in the meeting for moon sighting.
Arab media told that the moon of Zilhaj has been sighted in Saudi Arabia according to which Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries on June 28.
The communities in UK is also divided on Eid-al-Adha, with some celebrating Eid on June 28 with Saudi Arabia while others on June 29.
While, the communities following the fixed calendar in US and Canada will celebrate Eid on June 28, on the other hand others will decide by moon sighting today.
The experts of the World Astronomical Center had predicted the probable date of Eid-ul-Adha in most countries of the world including Pakistan.
International Astronomical Center had said that it is not possible for Eid-ul-Adha to happen on June 28 in many Muslim countries, as it is likely that Zill-Hajj 1 in Pakistan will be on Tuesday (June 20) or Wednesday (June 21). As per this prediction. Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan will be on Thursday (June 29) or Friday (June 30).
However, to see the moon in Pakistan, the meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held today, Monday (June 19) i.e., Zeeqad 29.
