Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi Wednesday approved the appointment Justice Qazi Faez Isa as the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) of Supreme Court, GNN reported.
According to details, the appointment of Qazi Faez Isa will be effective from September 17.
He has been appointed as per article 175 (A3) of constitution of Pakistan. Whereas the current CJP Umar Atta Bandial will retire on September 16, 2023 under Article 179 of the Constitution.
Qazi Faez will take the oath of the position on September 17 immediately after the retirement of CJP Bandial.
The President has already approved the appointment of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa as Chief Justice two months before.
