Mouse heads found in Chinese canteen lunch boxes
The incident is raising concerns about food safety in China.
Beijing: The mouse head was found in a lunch box served at the cafeteria of Xiushan County's traditional Chinese medicine hospital.
A video circulating online showed the rodent head in a dish of moyuya, a local specialty of duck stewed with konjac.
The hospital, which outsources its cafeteria catering through government bidding, claimed that it had never encountered such an issue before.
When contacted by the media, a hospital official declined to provide further details and referred to an "official report."
This incident follows a similar occurrence earlier in the month, where a student at Jiangxi Industry Polytechnic College shared a video of an unidentified object resembling a mouse head in his rice dish at a college cafeteria.
The college officials could not be immediately reached for comment.
