Pakistani college student nearly blinded and disfigured in acid attack outside her home in US
New York: A 21-yewar old Pakistani college student was blinded and disfigured in a heinous acid attack outside her home in United States (US).

According to details, an unidentified man threw acid on Nafiah Ikram, a Pakistani student in the Long Island suburb of New York disfiguring her face and damaging her eyes.
In the obtained CCTV footage, the victim and her mother can be seen getting out of the car outside their home on March 17 when a man approached her, threw acid on her face, and fled. She was left severely burned and nearly blind.
Nafiah, who is a student of medicine at Hofstra University and plans to be a doctor, was taken to the hospital by her mother, who also works there.
Her father, 50-year old Sheikh Ikram said that Nafiah was targeted on her way home from work.
“No, it’s not a random attack, it’s a planned attack,” he told local media.
Nafiah, who is hospitalized said that her whole life changed in matter of five minutes.
“We don’t realize what we have until it’s gone. I can just see colours, but that’s it,” she told WCBS. “I want to know, like, what’s the reason? Like, what could I have possibly done to somebody?”
The attack is labeled as an anti-Muslim hate crime.
