Lahore: Hospitals in Lahore are dealing with influx of patients due to sharp spike in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in the provincial capital.

According to details, the city reported 10 deaths in last 24 hours with more than 1300 patients presently undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
Around 262 patients are on ventilators due to critical condition, while coronavirus Intensive Care Units (ICU) are operating on 87% capacity.
Moreover, the oxygen supported beds are also running out of space in the city.
On the other hand, Special Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the coronavirus situation is getting serious with each passing day.
“Government would ensure provision of oxygen in hospitals. Strict action will be taken against those who are taking advantage of the situation selling oxygen at higher rates. Punjab Chief Minister has directed to immediately increase the number of ventilators and oxygen beds in hospitals,” she said.
Pakistan witnessed slight decline in Covid-19 infections in a single day for the first time after a period of 10 days as 4,825 new positive cases were reported along with 70 deaths during last 24 hours.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,825 cases of coronavirus were reported while 70 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,187.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 800,452.
As many as 694,046 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,862 critical cases.
