Govt announces holidays on Youm-e-Ashur
Government officials issue notifications for public holidays on Youm-e-Ashur.
Islamabad: The federal government has declared public holidays on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashur.
According to the notification issued by the government, the entire country will observe public holidays on the 28th and 29th of July.
It is worth noting that the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee's meeting to sight the moon of Muharram 1445 AH was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Quetta.
During a press conference, the Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, stated that no credible testimonies regarding the sighting of the Muharram moon were received from any location in the country.
He further announced that the consensus decision was made to observe the 1st of Muharram 1445 AH on Thursday, July 20, and Youm-e-Ashur on the 10th of Muharram, falling on July 29.
