Rana Sanaullah acquitted in terrorism case
A case was registered against Rana Sanaullah for threatening Chief Secretary Punjab, Commissioner Lahore, other officers and their family members.
Gujranwala: Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Gujranwala Tuesday acquitted Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in the case of allegedly threatening government officials after the plaintiff's case was rejected.
Notably, a case was registered against Rana Sanaullah on August 25, 2022, on the complaint of Shahkaz Aslam, a local leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), for threatening Chief Secretary Punjab, Commissioner Lahore, other officers and their family members.
A case was registered against Federal Minister Sanaullah at Industrial Area Gujarat police station.
He appeared in the Special ATC today. The court had also issued a notice to the bailiff of the Interior Minister to appear in the court today because Rana Saad had given bail Sanaullah when a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued in the case.
However, in the hearing held on Tuesday, the plaintiff Shahkaz Aslam deviated from his accusation, on which the court acquitted Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah from the case.
It is pertinent to note that Rana Sanaullah was accused of insulting the country's institutions and the judiciary in a TV program and threatening government officials including Chief Secretary Punjab, Commissioner Lahore and their families.
Earlier on February 24, Gujarat Police completed the investigation of this case and submitted the report of the deportation case to the court, which was rejected by the court and summoned the investigation team including Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Gujarat, while the arrest warrant of Rana Sanaullah was issued.
