Nasla Tower Case: Former DG Sindh Manzoor Qadir arrested
The court canceled the interim bails of the accused Manzoor Qadir and Khair Muhammad and directed them to be detained.
Karachi: Former Director General (DG) Sindh Building Control Authority Manzoor Qadir aka Kaka, involved in passing the illegal map of Nasla Tower in Karachi, was arrested as the court canceled his interim bail.
According to details, Supreme Court declared the construction of Nasla Tower, a residential building in Karachi, illegal, after which the building was demolished in 2022 following the court order.
In the Special Judge Provincial Anti-Corruption Court, a hearing was held on the petition for extension of interim bail of former DG Sindh Building Control Authority Manzoor Qadir who is accused in the case of illegal allotment of Nasla Tower land.
The public prosecutor took the position that Manzoor Kaka had illegally passed the map of Nasla Tower. He and other accused are blamed of increasing the land of Nasla Tower from 700 yards to 1100 square yards.
Lawyer of the accused said: “The charges leveled against Manzoor Qadir are false, his interim bail should be extended”.
After hearing the arguments of lawyers of the parties, the court reserved its verdict on the extension of interim bail.
Later, the court, giving a protected verdict, canceled the interim bails of the accused Manzoor Qadir and Khair Muhammad and directed them to be detained.
Former DG Sindh Building Control Authority was arrested from the court premises. The Supreme Court took notice of the illegal construction of Nasla Tower and ordered to register a case.
