Karachi: Federal Minister for Information and Technology (IT) Syed Aminul Haq inaugurated Karachi’s second IT lab in Orangi Town on Wednesday.
Aminul Haque, the minister of information technology, said that Ignite, a ministry-affiliated organization, helped set up the digital lab at Karachi's Orangi No 9.
He continued by saying that the lab will give young minds access to 15 top-notch IT courses, allowing them to develop valuable skills and competencies.
Haque stated that "our youth hold tremendous potential and talent; it merely requires the right nurturing and resources to flourish."
The lab's goals go beyond simple digital literacy, according to the IT Minister. He thinks that by the time students graduate, they would be skilled IT specialists prepared to contribute to Pakistan's fast developing IT sector.
Furthermore, Aminul Haque emphasized that initiatives at the school and college level play a pivotal role in unlocking the true potential of Pakistan’s IT sector.
He claimed that Pakistan could become an important participant in the global tech industry if given the necessary infrastructure and assistance, as IT exports might reach a staggering $15 billion.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by local officials, educators, and students, who were all eager to witness the new era of digital empowerment unfold in their community.
