Pakistani filmmaker's documentary nominated for Emmy Awards

Haya Fatima Iqbal, an Academy, and two-time Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, has been nominated for the prestigious Emmy Awards for her film.
Haya's documentary, titled 'As Far As They Can Run,' has been nominated in the Best Short Documentary category at the 44th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
The film portrays the journey of three young individuals from rural areas of Pakistan who have faced mental challenges and aspired to become athletes through Pakistan's Special Olympics program.
Expressing her joy and gratitude for the nomination, Haya Fatima Iqbal shared the news on social media, informing her followers about her film's recognition at the Emmy Awards.
Haya further revealed that her film revolves around the lives of children in Mirpur Khas and its surrounding areas, who endure mental hardships but ultimately train to become accomplished athletes.
The Pakistani filmmaker expressed her happiness and honor that one of the children featured in her film, Sana Kapri, carried the Special Olympics torch in Berlin last month.
Haya Fatima Iqbal revealed that she served as the field producer for this film, acknowledging the relentless efforts of many others who contributed to the documentary.
She hopes that her film will once again be a contender for the Emmy Award this time.
