Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the appointment of senior bureaucrat Mohammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi as the foreign secretary on Friday.
According to sources, Qazi will take over after the current foreign secretary, Asad Majeed Khan, retires.
Further, as per details, Asad Majeed will retire on August 16.
Qazi is a senior officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) at the moment.
Additionally, he represented Pakistan as its ambassador to Turkey and Hungary.
