Mumbai: A recent report has unveiled that Azim Premji, India’s Muslim billionaire also known as “IT Czar” is the most generous donor to charitable causes.

Premji has donated at least ten times more than any other billionaire on the list, including India’s richest man, Reliance Industries Chairman, Mukesh Ambani, who came in third on the list.
According to the Edelgive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2020, the total amount donated in 2020 by over 90 philanthropists was a staggering 9,374 crore INR.
Azim Premji, CEO of Wipro, donated 7,904 crores, ten times more than anyone else on the list. While the billionaire’s company donates primarily to education, in 2020 it donated a total of 1,125 crores to battle coronavirus pandemic.
HCL Tech’s Shiv Nader is the second most generous man on the list, who donated 795 crores to education and scholarships. Mukesh Ambani is third, having donated 458 crores in 2020, out of which a substantial amount was given to Narendra Modi’s PM Cares fund to fight Covid-19.
