Caretaker PM summons first cabinet meeting today
President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath to the members of federal cabinet in a ceremony held at President House.
Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar called the first meeting of his federal cabinet today (Friday).
According to details, the 25-member meeting will take place at Prime Minister House in Islamabad at 11:00am today.
President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath to the members of federal cabinet in a ceremony held at President House yesterday (Thursday). In addition to 16 ministers, the federal cabinet also includes six special assistants and three advisers.
Shamshad Akhtar has taken over the important responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance, while Sarfaraz Bugti is the new Interior minister and Jalil Abbas Jilani has taken up the important responsibility of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lt Gen Retd Anwar Ali Haider has been appointed Defense Minister, Gohar Ejaz as Commerce Minister, Dr. Nadeem Jan as Health Minister and Aneeq Ahmed as Religious Affairs Minister while Murtaza Solangi has been appointed as Information Minister.
Painter and actor Jamal Shah has been given the position of culture and Ahmed Irfan the place of law, while Sarfraz Bugti will hold the ministry of counter-narcotics and overseas Pakistanis also.
Anwar Ali Haider will hold the additional ministry of Aviation, while Umar Saif will hold the IT and Khalil George the Human Rights Ministers.
