ECP chief hints about announcing elections date
ANP in the meeting demanded election within 90 days as per constitution from Chief Election Commissioner.
Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja said that it is possible to announce the election schedule in few upcoming days.
According to details, Awami National Party (ANP), Balochistan Awami Paty (BAP) and Balochistan National Party (BNP) delegations met Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja yesterday (Thursday).
On this occasion, Chief Election Commissioner stated: “It is possible that election schedule will be announced in the next few days”.
On the other hand, ANP in the meeting demanded election within 90 days as per constitution from Chief Election Commissioner.
The Election Commission should have consulted the parties before delimiting constituencies. There is no need for new constituencies at the time, they added.
Apart from this, ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain told the media that Election Commission officials have talked about holding the election at the end of January or mid-February.
