The Election Commission of Pakistan finalizes the tentative schedule following approval.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has prepared a tentative schedule for the upcoming general elections.
According to sources, there is a possibility of holding the general elections on January 28, 2024.
While the working dates for polling have been suggested as January 27 to January 30, the final electoral schedule will be issued following the approval of the Election Commission.
It's worth noting that the Election Commission of Pakistan has shortened the delimitation period, and the final publication will be completed by November 30.
Earlier, the Chief Election Commissioner had stated that the delimitation process would be concluded by December 14.
In a crucial meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the Election Commission of Pakistan discussed the timeline for delimitations, and it was decided that the final delimitation publication would now be completed by November 30.
On the other hand, consultations with political parties regarding election preparations are ongoing.
The Chief Election Commissioner has emphasized that the Election Commission carefully considers these suggestions and makes decisions in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
