2 children drown in Badin, 3 saved alive
Badin: Two children have drowned while three were saved alive on Saturday in Talhar, Badin.
The five children had gone to nearby canal to swim. While two drowned, three were saved alive by people from the surrounding area.
The two who drowned were declared dead on the spot. The three remaining children were shifted to hospital.
Sindh has reported multiple cases of children drowning while swimming in the province’s rivers and canals. In June 2020, seven children drowned while swimming in the River Indus near their village in Thatta. Critics blame the government for not installing sign boards that prohibit children from swimming in dangerous currents.
