In photos released by North Korean state media, Kim Jong-un can be seen inspecting a black submarine at a shipyard amid navy officers.
North Korea's state media claims the submarine, named after naval officer and national hero Kim Kun-ok, has further boosted the country's nuclear power.
According to the official media, on the occasion of unveiling the submarine, Kim said the nuclear-capable submarine, which was a symbol of aggression against our country and nation for decades in the past, is now a terror for our enemies. It has become a symbol and our strength.
