Babar says India had plan against our bowlers
This is Pakistan's second-worst defeat in ODI history by runs.
Colombo: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said after the worst defeat against India in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2023 that Indian batsmen had a plan against our bowlers, also we did not bat well either.
According to details, India defeated Pakistan by a huge margin of 228 runs in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup on Monday.
In response to India's 356 runs, the national team could score only 128 runs in 32 overs. This is India's biggest success in One Day International (ODI) cricket against Pakistan.
This is Pakistan's second-worst defeat in ODI history by runs, with Pakistan losing by 234 runs to Sri Lanka in 2009.
Talking after the match, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said that our bowlers bowled according to the plan, however Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gil had a plan against our fast bowlers.
He stated: “After the Indian openers Virat Kohli and KL Rahul also batted well, in pursuit of the target we did not bat well and could not build a partnership”.
Virat Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 122 runs against Pakistan while KL Rahul also remained unbeaten with 111 runs.
Apart from this, Captain Rohit Sharma played an innings of 56 runs and Shubman Gil played an innings of 58 runs.
It is pertinent to note that important match between Pakistan and India in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup on Sunday was suspended due to continuous rain and the ground field was damaged and shifted to the reserved day on Monday.
