The court also barred the school administration from collecting Rs30,000 fee from parents.

Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Saturday ordered the private school administration not to increase the fees.
According to details, a hearing was held in SHC on the petition of parents against the private school, in which the petitioner said: “The new branch of the school was inaugurated in August 2022 and the management assured 50% discount in the fee for lifetime”.
The petitioner stated that while other facilities including air-conditioned classrooms were assured, gradually the attitude of the school management changed, and the children started sitting under a tin roof.
Parents of the student took the stand in court that when the school was approached, they asked to expel the students from the school, after which they approached the court.
Responding to the stand of the petitioner, the court added that school administration can only increase the old fee by 5%, until the decision is taken. The administration should not increase the fee by more than 5%.
The court also barred the school administration from collecting Rs30,000 fee from parents while the court summoned the school administration and Direct General (DG) Private Schools for the next hearing.
It is pertinent to note that after the appeal was filed in the court, Sindh High Court had also barred the children from being expelled from the school.
