British MPs demand justice for Hardeep Singh in parliament
Hardeep Singh's murder should be brought to justice: British Foreign Secretary.
London: Members of the British Parliament have taken up the issue of the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nagar during a session in Parliament.
The murder, which occurred in Canada, has raised concerns about justice and the rule of law.
Several prominent British MPs, including Khalid Mehmood, David Lemmy, Preet Kaur, and Tan Manjeet Singh, have called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the murder of Hardeep Singh.
They are demanding that those responsible for this heinous crime be brought to justice.
Khalid Mehmood, a British Pakistani MP, issued a stern warning to India, emphasizing that state-sponsored terrorism will not be tolerated. This statement underscores the gravity of the allegations surrounding the murder.
British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley has also weighed in on the matter.
He affirmed that those behind Hardeep Singh's murder will face justice, emphasizing the importance of all countries respecting the rule of law.
Cleverley further stated that the UK government is in continuous communication with Canada regarding the serious allegations against India.
Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged India not to dismiss the allegations surrounding the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada.
He emphasized that Canada is taking the issue seriously and seeks answers regarding Hardeep Singh's murder rather than provoking India.
The murder of Hardeep Singh Nagar occurred outside a gurdwara in Canada on June 18, 2023, leading to speculation about India's involvement.
In response to these allegations, Canada expelled an Indian diplomat, prompting India to reciprocate by ordering the expulsion of a senior Canadian diplomat from the country.
