Rawalpindi: Security forces have killed eight terrorists and arrested five during two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement claimed that six of the terrorists were killed in Jani Khel area of Bannu district while two were killed in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan district.
The terrorists who were killed had previously attacked security personnel, most notably the suicide bombing of a security convoy on August 31.
The military's media wing stated that troops had seized weapons and ammunition from their possession and that the locals had praised the actions carried out by the soldiers.
It stated that security forces are committed to ending terrorism in the country.
Earlier, Security forces killed a terrorist during an intelligence-based operation in general area Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan district on Wednesday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, During the operation, militants and own troops engaged in a ferocious firefight.
One terrorist was killed and another suffered injuries in the gunfight.
“Locals of the area appreciated the operation. Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area,” it added.
