New York: Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will address the United Nations General Assembly session today (Friday).
According to details, it is likely that caretaker prime minister will highlight the situation in Afghanistan including the Kashmir issue and the wave of terrorism in his address.
Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations Forum in New York, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said the resurgence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is a cause of concern for Pakistan and the whole world and must be faced mutually.
He stated that a stable Afghanistan is the main priority of the foreign policy of Pakistan and the United States. We welcome direct contacts with the Afghan government. Peace and stability in Pakistan's neighborhood is very important for economic prosperity.
The Caretaker Prime Minister added that people of Pakistan will elect a new government in the next few months. The mandate of the interim government is to ensure free and transparent elections, stable and democratic Pakistan is our priority. We will ensure full representation of Pakistanis in the government.
