Gautam Gambhir called Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam the best quality player.


Mumbai: In a recent interview with Star Sports, former Indian cricket team stalwart Gautam Gambhir hailed Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam as the epitome of cricketing excellence.
When quizzed about the player he expects to shine in the upcoming ICC World Cup, Gambhir was presented with a choice of cricket's elite, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, David Warner, Steve Smith, and Babar Azam.
Gambhir's unequivocal response was, "Babar Azam because he possesses all the attributes to set this entire World Cup on fire. I've witnessed very few players with his level of mastery over batting."
While acknowledging the exceptional talents of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, David Warner, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson, Gambhir underscored that Babar Azam's cricketing prowess stands in a league of its own.
ICC ODI World Cup, is scheduled to commence on October 5 in India.
