It will be our responsibility to transport illegal Afghans from Karachi to Balochistan in buses: Haris Nawaz.
Karachi: Caretaker Interior Minister of Sindh, Haris Nawaz, has announced the initiation of an operation against illegal Afghan nationals residing in the province.
This decision aims to address rising street crimes and shooting incidents in Karachi.
During a statement, Haris Nawaz emphasized the need to control such criminal activities, acknowledging that it is a challenging task.
However, he expressed optimism that significant improvements could be observed within four weeks.
Nawaz revealed that law enforcement agencies had taken action against many criminals, resulting in casualties and injuries among them.
He asserted that such actions would act as a deterrent for criminals, making them reconsider their activities.
Furthermore, Nawaz highlighted that the existing system in Karachi had been overhauled to eliminate any political influence.
He noted the appointment of competent officers in key positions and assured that no land encroachments would be tolerated under his watch.
Regarding the operation against illegal Afghan nationals, Nawaz stated that it would encompass individuals hoisting the Afghan flag and supporting it.
He mentioned issuing a letter to the Home Secretary, outlining plans to cancel the citizenship of Afghans who had acquired Pakistani nationality unlawfully.
Additionally, the government intends to facilitate their transportation from Karachi to Balochistan via buses.
Nawaz also disclosed that dedicated teams would be deployed to oversee the repatriation of Afghans from Chaman, ensuring a coordinated and comprehensive effort.
