Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Tourism Wasi Shah on World Tourism Day announced that the ministry would soon launch a ‘tourism app’ for the convenience of the public.
According to a statement from the ministry, the app will focus on boosting medical tourism in the nation and offer quick access to information about popular tourist sites.
The minister said that in regions with a lot of tourist attractions, the interim government will encourage eco-tourism through a private-public collaboration.
“Tourists visiting Pakistan will very soon have an official application providing authentic information and access to the state tourism department,” he added.
The day is being observed today to reaffirm our commitment to consider the strength and potential of the tourism industry in promoting the prosperity and advancement of the area, according to President Dr. Arif Alvi's statement on the occasion.
The software will be made accessible to Android users on the Google Play Store, and it will include all information relating to tourist attractions, modes of transportation, and other services.
Pakistan, like other countries across the world, is observing World Tourism Day today to spread awareness of the value of tourism and its effects on our society.
The theme for this year is "Tourism and Green Investments".
