Aamir Jamal scored 41 runs in the quarter-final match between Pakistan and Hong Kong in the Asian Games T20 competition.


Hangzhou: In a thrilling encounter at the Zhejiang University Cricket Field in Hangzhou, China, Pakistan emerged victorious over Hong Kong, securing a spot in the semi-finals of the T20 cricket competition at the Asian Games.
The match showcased the aggressive batting prowess of Amir Jamal and a stellar performance by Pakistan's spinners.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a challenging total of 160 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
The highlight of their innings was Amir Jamal's aggressive batting display, where he scored 41 runs off just 16 balls, including 2 fours and 4 sixes.
His onslaught provided the much-needed impetus to Pakistan's innings.
However, Pakistan faced some early setbacks, with opener Mirza Baig departing without scoring a run in the first over.
Rohail Nazir contributed 13 runs, while Hyder Ali managed 4 runs, and captain Qasim Akram added 12 runs.
When Umir Yusuf was dismissed for 21 runs, Pakistan found themselves at 54 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Responsible batting by Asif Ali, Arafat Minhas, and Amir Jamal ensured that Pakistan reached a competitive total.
Asif Ali scored 25 runs, featuring two sixes and one four, while Arafat Minhas contributed 25 runs with the help of fours and sixes.
Amir Jamal's explosive innings included 2 fours and 4 sixes, resulting in his 41-run blitz.
In response, Hong Kong struggled to chase down the target and was bowled out for just 92 runs in 18.5 overs.
Pakistan's spinners played a pivotal role in restricting Hong Kong's batting lineup, securing a comprehensive 68-run victory.
Pakistan Shaheens will now face the winner of the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the semi-finals, which are scheduled for October 6.
