Mumbai: Bollywood producer and director Boney Kapoor has broken his silence on the allegations surrounding his wife Sridevi's death, shedding light on the tragic incident that occurred five years ago.
In a recent interview with Indian media, Boney Kapoor made a startling revelation about Sridevi's struggles with her diet and its impact on her health.
He disclosed that Sridevi had been extremely sensitive about her appearance and often resorted to drastic measures such as fasting to maintain her figure.
According to Boney Kapoor, it was this extreme dieting that ultimately took a toll on Sridevi's health, leading to her untimely demise.
Contrary to rumors and speculations, Boney Kapoor firmly stated that Sridevi's death was not a result of foul play but rather a tragic accident.
He revealed that clearing his name in the aftermath of the incident was a challenging journey, involving significant pressure from the Indian government on the Dubai police.
However, after a thorough investigation, it was determined that there was no wrongdoing on his part, and Sridevi's death was officially ruled as an accidental tragedy.
The legendary Bollywood actress, Sridevi, aged 54, was discovered lifeless in the bathroom of a Dubai hotel on February 24, 2018.
