The epicenter of the earthquake was 10 kilometers below the surface of the earth.

Kabul: The western part of Afghanistan was shaken by the earthquake whose magnitude 6.2 was recorded on the Richter scale.
According to US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was 40 kilometers northwest of the city of Herat, and 10 kilometers below the surface of the earth. The epicenter was in Herat province.
According to news agency, earthquake tremors were also felt in Iran and Turkmenistan. However, no loss of life and property have been reported as yet.
