Under the rules, Rs20 million are payable towards duties and taxes on the recovered goods.


Karachi: Customs Intelligence Karachi personnel recovered expensive electronic items worth Rs50 million from an abandoned cat food container while conducting operations at Karachi port.
According to the authorities, no one contacted for the clearance of the said container which reached Karachi on September 19.
Various electronic items worth Rs30 million were recovered from the container during the inspection.
Under the rules, Rs20 million are payable towards duties and taxes on the recovered goods.
As many as 38 such consignments have already been ordered by the involved mafia.
In the past, these consignments were sent to various ports. According to sources, investigations are on by the Customs Intelligence to identify the mafia involved.
