Islamabad: 24 flights including 16 flights of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were canceled due to administrative problems at various airports of the country, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, while the schedule of a large number of flights has been badly affected.
In this regard, the spokesman of the national airline could not be contacted despite efforts, nor the queries sent to him were answered.
According to media reports, 16 domestic flights have been canceled today (Monday) due to administrative problems of PIA.
According to the airport schedule, there are two PIA flights PK 582 and PK 583 from Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan, PK 536 and PK 537 from Sukkur route, PK 350 and PK 351 from Karachi to Peshawar, PK 330 and PK 331 from Karachi to Multan have been cancelled.
Among the canceled flights are two flights from Islamabad to Gilgit PK 601 and 602, Islamabad to Quetta PK 725 and PK 726, Islamabad to Sukkur PK 631 and PK 632, Islamabad to Gilgit PK 605 and PK 606.
It has also been stated that the canceled flights of private airlines include PF 743 from Dammam, PF 144 from Lahore to Karachi, PF 121 from Karachi to Islamabad, PF 143 to Lahore.
Private airline flights PF718 and PF719 from Islamabad to Jeddah, PF122 and PF126 from Islamabad to Karachi were also cancelled.
The arrivals and departures of flights have been affected in Karachi last midnight due to strong winds, dust storms and power outages.
Karachi to Dubai flight PA 207 for one hour, from Karachi to Jeddah PF 714 for approximately 46 minutes, Jeddah flight PA 170 three hours, Jeddah Saudi Air flight SV 705 one hour, Air Arabia to Sharjah Flight G9549 to 1:45 hours, Emirates EK607 to Dubai 1:09 hours, private airline flight from Lahore to Jeddah six hours, PK 186 from Lahore to Sharjah one hour, Istanbul TK 709 1:45 while flights to Doha, Dubai, Lahore, Jeddah and Colombo have also been delayed.
According to the sources, the departure of PK 732 from Jeddah to Karachi is expected to be delayed by two and a half hours, while the departure of ER 502 from Karachi to Islamabad is expected to be delayed by one hour.
Flight ER 821 will depart Jeddah at 5:10 PM according to the new schedule. Departure of PK 755 from Sialkot to Riyadh and PK 243 to Dammam has been delayed by one hour.
Departure of PK 240 from Kuwait City to Sialkot was delayed by four hours while flight PK 746 from Jeddah to Sialkot was delayed by one and a half hours.
Apart from this, the departure of flights from Islamabad to Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Jeddah, Doha, Riyadh, Madinah Abu Dhabi, Istanbul have also been delayed.
Flight PK185 from Lahore to Sharjah was delayed by two hours, TK 715 to Istanbul was delayed by 1.5 hours.
