Ottawa: Diplomatic tensions between Canada and India have escalated as Canada announces the recall of 41 of its 62 diplomats from India.
Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly disclosed that Indian authorities formally notified 21 Canadian diplomats and their families on October 20 about the termination of diplomatic immunity.
The strained relations between India and Canada intensified when the Canadian Prime Minister alleged the involvement of the Indian intelligence agency in the assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Najar.
