Lahore: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has finally came to the fore.
While giving an interview to a private news channel, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid said that he was observing spiritual solitude (chilla) and was out of the scene. There was an opportunity to think a lot during this solitude.
Sheikh Rashid stated that he condemned the incidents of May 09 the very next day.
The head of Awami Muslim League added: “I asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan twice to include the establishment in the negotiation process, but he refused”.
Sheikh Rashid further said that a politician should not take the name of any military officer, this country cannot run without institutions. Politicians and institutions should work together, when they fight, it is institutions that always win.
He continued to say: “I was taken by X (former Twitter), I was shown that these things were said by you, I did not use Twitter myself, but all the words belonged to me, nothing came out against me except the tweets”.
The former federal minister added that we made a mistake by getting involved in the case of General Asim Munir. He said: “PTI chief is a stubborn politician, three of his people who were negotiating with the army formed their own party”.
He said that even today I will stand with the army, I will fight the election, whether I get support or not, that is up to Allah.
