Pakistan to play fifth match against Afghanistan today

Chennai: Pakistan team will play their fifth match of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) World Cup 2023 against Afghanistan today (Monday).

According to details, the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium at 1:30pm Pakistan Standard Time.

The national batsmen yesterday practiced at the Chidambaram Stadium on how to control the Afghan spinners.

Osama Mir, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan made national batsmen practice in net.

All Pakistan players were present in the practice session. Fakhar Zaman, who suffered from a knee injury, did not do the net practice.

Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq said: “We believe that we have not played well in the last two matches, we have analyzed what mistakes have been made in the tournament so far, and we will see a better team today that will get back on track by winning today’s match”.

Since the world cup 2023 started, Pakistan has played four matches in the series out of which it managed to win two matches against Sri Lanka and Netherlands. While Afghanistan has also played four matches out of which it has won only one match.
