Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed on Saturday moved a contempt of court petition against Punjab's Inspector General of Police (IG), the Chief Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) of Lahore, and others in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Sanam Javed's contempt petition was filed through advocate Shakeel Pasha, naming several police officers, including the IG Punjab and the CCPO Lahore, as respondents.

She stated that, in accordance with a court order, the police officials were expected to submit a report to the Lahore High Court concerning the cases.

According to the petition, two cases were registered against Javed, but she was arrested in a third case after being granted bail in the previous cases. Javed was presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in connection with these two cases.

Sanam Javed urged the court to take action against the police officers for contempt of court.

It's worth noting that Sanam Javed Khan was re-arrested shortly after being discharged by the anti-terrorism court in the Askari Tower attack case on October 21. The PTI activist was rearrested outside the prison premises in another case related to the vandalism of the PML-N office.

The events on May 9th marked the background for these legal developments. Violent clashes erupted across Pakistan when former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan were apprehended at the Islamabad High Court. The protests were held in various cities, leading to disruptions and confrontations.
