Hezbollah shoots down Israeli drone in Southern Lebanon
It's the first claim of Hezbollah since the escalation of tensions with Israeli forces in Lebanon's border regions in October.
Beirut: The Lebanese resistance organization Hezbollah reported the downing of an Israeli drone that was allegedly flying over southern Lebanon.
This claim marks the first such incident since tensions escalated between Hezbollah and Israeli forces in Lebanon's border regions in early October.
According to reports from a British news agency, Hezbollah asserted that the Israeli drone was targeted while operating in the Lebanese area of Khayam, located approximately 5 kilometers from the Israeli border.
Consequently, the drone purportedly fell within Israeli territory.
It is worth noting that the past few weeks have witnessed daily clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, commencing after Israel's military actions in Gaza.
However, this marks the first instance in which Hezbollah has claimed the use of surface-to-air missiles to intercept drones.
Hezbollah has further alleged that in the last three weeks, they executed 84 attacks in 42 different locations within Israel.
Moreover, yesterday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas, announced that they targeted Dimona, a strategically significant city in Israel's Negev desert due to its secret nuclear facilities.
