Pakistan on Sunday received another batch of 1 million doses of the Chinese Sinovac coronavirus vaccine, bringing the total number of doses procured to more than 11 million doses.

According to details, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight 6852 reached another one million doses of the Chinese jabs China on Sunday.
“More flights of the national carrier are expected to airlift more consignments of COVID-19 vaccines procured from China by the end of May 2021, Qadir Bux Sangi, PIA country manager for China told the press.
According to official sources, Pakistan has so far received over 11 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines comprising of Sinopharm, Sinovac and CanSino procured from China including others through the COVAX programme.
Around 1.23 million doses of the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine were also received in the federal capital last night.
However, this vaccine was procured through the COVAX programme.
Earlier, a top health official claimed that Pakistan is set to receive 30 million doses from different countries for which the orders have already been placed.
The government of Pakistan has recently announced the vaccine registration for people above 30 years of age while the vaccination of people above 40 has already been in the process.
According to the ministry of health, more than 964,000 people have been fully vaccinated while 3.4 million doses have been given yet.
It is to be noted that the number of coronaviruses recovered patients have been consequently rising in the country.
Pakistan is currently facing a third wave of COVID19 with 877,000 cases registered till now and 19,543 deaths countrywide.
According to National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 5,288 people have recovered from the deadly virus.
