Journalist Protection Bill to be introduced in NA today: Fawad Ch
Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that the Journalist Protection Bill will be introduced in the National Assembly (NA) today.
On his official twitter handle, the minister shared the draft bill and its enactment schedule
“Alhamdulillah, it is a great achievement for working journalists,” he wrote.
The Minister also extended his gratitude to Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari for her concerted and arduous efforts for formulation of the Bill.
“It took two and a half years for preparing the Bill but now finally the legislation is underway," he added.
The minister concluded saying, “Many thanks to those who have worked tirelessly for this bill”.
