The lawyer took the stand that Fawad Chaudhry is a former federal minister and a lawyer of the Supreme Court.
Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad Tuesday handed over Fawad Chaudhry—the leader of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)—to the police for one-day physical remand.
According to details, a fraud case against Fawad Chaudhry was heard in the Islamabad Court where police presented Fawad with covered face.
During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry told his brother, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, to file a contempt of court petition that he had been brought to the court with covered face.
On this, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said in the court: “I want to file a petition for contempt of court because the court had prohibited covering the face with cloth during the previous hearing too”.
The lawyer took the stand that Fawad Chaudhry is a former federal minister and a lawyer of the Supreme Court.
During the hearing, Prosecutor Adnan Ali requested for further physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry saying that the money and a gun has to be recovered from former federal minister as he is being evasive and an identification parade should be made because he is not cooperating with the police.
Defense council opposed the physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry, on which the court reserved its decision first and later approved his one-day physical remand.
