Govt committed to protect rights of minorities in country: Aneeq
The caretaker minister for religious affairs and inter-faith harmony says Islam teaches its followers to respect every religion.
Lahore: Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed has stressed the need for respect of all religions in the society.
Addressing a conference on Inter-faith Harmony in Lahore today, he said Islam teaches its followers to respect every religion.
The Minister also emphasized to promote unity among the people.
He said the government is committed to promote interfaith harmony and protect the rights of minorities in the country.
Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister's Special Representative on Interfaith Harmony Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, said that the constitution of the country guarantees the rights of every citizen.
He stressed the need for efforts to create an environment where no minority feels fear.
Chairman Ruete Hilal Committee Abdul Khabeer Azad, in his address, also highlighted Islamic teachings regarding tolerance and inter-faith harmony.
