PTV 59th anniversary observed

Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar cut the cake at PTV Islamabad Centre to mark celebration of its 59th anniversary on Sunday.
The PM commended PTV for playing a key role in highlighting Pakistan's identity and portraying soft image of the country.
The Prime Minister also participated in the maiden programme of the newly launched Talk-Show of PTV News 'Baat Se Baat'.
Renowned artist and celebrity Faryhal Gohar is the host of the programme. Prime Minister's interview with Faryal Gohar will be telecast tonight.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Television founded on November 26, 1964 in Lahore.
Being the largest Television Network, PTV is serving about 92 percent of the population and having largest terrestrial infrastructure of the country.
A ceremony in connection with the 59th anniversary of Pakistan Television was also held at PTV Lahore centre.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi and Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting congratulated the PTV team on completion of 59 years.
He said Pakistan Television, the national broadcaster of Pakistan, started his journey in the premises of Radio Pakistan under Aslam Ahzar.
On this occasion, the caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi urged PTV administration to adopt modern techniques and focus on digital media.
