Women will be able to perform Hajj without mahram for the first time.
Islamabad: The process of Hajj applications under the government scheme will start from today in 15 banks across the country, which will continue till December 12.
According to the announcement made by Ministry of Religious Affairs, about 89,605 Pakistanis will perform Hajj under the government scheme next year.
If more than the prescribed number of applications are received, the government will conduct balloting. Women will be able to perform Hajj without mahram for the first time.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs said that a quota of 25,000 has been allocated under the sponsorship scheme, under which applications must be submitted from abroad along with dollars.
Under the sponsorship scheme, applicants or their relatives will be exempted from the draw.
It is pertinent to note that applications can be submitted using ID cards that are valid till December 2024.
