Lahore: As the evening settled in, thick fog descended over the plains of Punjab, causing significant disruptions to traffic on various highways in the region. The low visibility prompted authorities to close multiple routes to ensure the safety of commuters.
According to the spokesperson for Motorways police, Motorway M-11 was completely closed to all types of traffic due to the heavy fog. Simultaneously, Motorway M-2 experienced closures from Thokar Niaz Baig to Haran Minar, affecting various commuters.
The adverse weather conditions also impacted Phaliya city and its surroundings, where the flow of traffic was severely affected in the early evening. The reduced visibility posed challenges for drivers, necessitating caution and slow speeds.
In Kasur and its neighboring areas, the fog was so dense that visibility became virtually zero. This led to further complications for commuters, and authorities urged travelers to exercise caution and consider alternate routes where possible.
As the fog persisted, officials advised drivers to stay informed about road conditions, use appropriate lights, and maintain safe distances to prevent accidents.
