The ECP has written a letter to Chief Secretary and IG Punjab, directing them to secure the process of scrutiny of nomination papers.

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Thursday filed another petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) demanding the transfer of Inspector General (IG) and Chief Secretary Punjab.
According to the details, PTI took the stand in the petition submitted by lawyer Shoaib Shaheen that these two officers are involved in harassing PTI leaders and workers.
In the petition, PTI requested that the arrests of nominated candidates and supporters be stopped and that PTI candidates be included in the vetting process.
Earlier, Election Commissioner Punjab Saeed Gul contacted IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar over the issue of snatching nomination papers from candidates in Punjab.
On the other hand, the Election Commission has taken up PTI's complaint regarding ‘non-availability of level playing field’.
The ECP has written a letter to Chief Secretary Punjab and IG Punjab, directing that the process of scrutiny of nomination papers should be secured.
The letter said that the safety of the candidates and their supporters should be ensured and no political leader or party should be deprived of the fundamental right.
