IHC allows PTI founder, chairman to meet
Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb said that consultation of founder and chairman PTI on tickets is a fundamental right.
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday issued the orders to let Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and current chairman Barrister Ali Gohar to meet for consultation.
According to the details, Justice Maingul Hasan of the IHC remarked if the caretaker government wants to derail the elections. The opposition in the consultation of former and current Chairman of PTI raises questions about the impartiality of the caretaker government.
The judge also remarked during the hearing on the appeal of Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar and other lawyers to meet the founder of PTI that there is a terrible system that even election consultation is not allowed.
Justice Maingul, while allowing PTI chairman to consult with PTI founders, ordered that the meeting should be conducted under the supervision of the Superintendent of Adiala Jail.
The court expressed its indignation over the opposition of the Attorney General and Advocate General to the hearing of PTI's petition if the additional note from the Supreme Court was not enough for you or want me also to write a note against you.
The High Court in its remarks said: “The permission of consultation for elections is a fundamental right, the caretaker government should be neutral in the elections, opposition to the consultation of the founder and chairman PTI raises questions about the neutrality of the government”.
During the hearing, Additional Attorney General and Superintendent of Adiala Jail appeared in the court.
The counsel pleaded that a consultation is required for the distribution of 700 PTI tickets.
Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb said that consultation of founder and chairman PTI on tickets is a fundamental right.
On this occasion, the Attorney General and Advocate General opposed the admissibility of the petition, on which the IHC expressed its indignation and disposed the petition by allowed consultation.
