Lahore: An appeal has been filed in the Election Tribunal against the acceptance of nomination papers from NA-130 of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif.
According to the details, the appeal has been filed by the head of Pakistan Awami Mahaz, Advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhry.
The position adopted in the appeal is that Nawaz Sharif has been disqualified by the Supreme Court for life, he is not eligible to contest the election.
The appellant said that the returning officer approved the papers of Nawaz Sharif contrary to the facts.
In the appeal, it has been requested that the nomination papers of former Prime Minister be rejected and declared ineligible.
It is pertinent to note that the series of appeals against the rejection or acceptance of nomination papers for the general elections 2024 is going on.
