Lahore belongs to Bhutto’s legacy, says Bilawal Bhutto
The PPP chairman says the lot of work is yet to be done in Lahore against the claims of other political rivals.
Lahore: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that Lahore's essence is not tied to any business magnate or sports figure but exclusively belonged to the Bhutto legacy.
Expressing his delight at being in Lahore, Bilawal underscored his commitment to contesting elections from the city. He declared a departure from the need for feudal lords, emphasizing his sole dedication to the welfare of the people.
He was addressing a workers’ convention in Lahore’s Township area on Sunday.

The PPP chairman said that lot of work is yet to be done, contrary to the claims of other political rivals.
Bilawal said that the PPP had been in Lahore since the era of General Zia's rule, saying that their commitment to the Jiyalas of the PPP.
Bilawal Bhutto highlighted the PPP's struggle against inflation, unemployment, and poverty, vowing to persist in advocating for the rights of the people. Plans included the establishment of major hospitals in Lahore to eliminate the necessity for medical treatment abroad and the provision of property rights to slum dwellers.

Addressing divisive politics, Bilawal pledged to eradicate hatred from the political landscape.
“The PPP aims to implement free medical facilities in every district of Punjab, prioritize housing provision for the people, offer up to 300 units of free electricity, and double salaries,” said Bilawal.
He emphasized social welfare initiatives, including providing cards to laborers and farmers, expanding the Benazir Income Support Program, and committing to constructing 30 lakh houses for Pakistanis if granted the opportunity by Allah.
The PPP chairman urged unity among the workers to reshape Lahore and Pakistan's destiny. He questioned the recurring appointment of the same individual as Prime Minister, urging a change in leadership. He conveyed his confidence that by stamping on the arrow symbol on February 8, the young leadership would rise, and the PPP's manifesto holds solutions to all issues.
Bilawal said that the PPP's manifesto offered solutions to all issues, urging supporters to become ambassadors of the party's message—promising an end to poverty and creation of employment opportunities when the PPP came into the power.
