Murtaza Solangi reaffirms that the general elections would proceed as scheduled on the 8th of next month.


Islamabad: Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has stated that electioneering by political parties will gain momentum after the revised lists of candidates.
While speaking to the media in Islamabad today, he reaffirmed that the general elections would proceed as scheduled on the 8th of next month.
He said that elections have been conducted in the past, even in adverse circumstances, and the current situation is considerably better than before.

The Minister mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Election Commission of Pakistan would provide information regarding the arrival of foreign media in the country for election coverage.
In response to the recent internet disruption in the country, Murtaza Solangi clarified that the internet disorder was a technical issue unrelated to politics.
